Hi, I’m Jacinta.

What brings you here? Maybe you want to make small changes in your life. Maybe there are big worries causing you distress. Maybe you just want someone to listen. Maybe you want to feel heard.

I am a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health Care and Professionals Council (HCPC). I completed my Doctorate at the University of Surrey where I gained the knowledge and skills to support individuals and their families with a variety of psychological difficulties across the lifespan.

My Approach To Therapy

As a Clinical Psychologist I am trained in a variety of models that I typically use in an integrative manner, which means I take the skills and tools from a variety of modes to create a bespoke and individualised therapy experience targeted specifically at your needs. The main therapy modes I draw on are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Systemic Therapy. I am also informed by Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy.

I recognise that sharing your worries and concerns with a stranger can feel like a daunting experience and the idea of ‘getting help’ can come with a lot of reservations. I meet my clients in a collaborative place – we work together to understand what might be happening. My clients are the experts of their own experience and I aim to bring the skills and knowledge to navigate through arising difficulties. I value approaching my clients with transparency and authenticity.

Where do I start?

I can support with a variety of psychological needs and difficulties or mental health conditions. The usual first step is to arrange a time which suits you for an initial psychological assessment. At this appointment you will have the opportunity to discuss your main needs, difficulties and goals and if appropriate I can help to identify how these might be met through psychological therapy. You will also be able to ask any questions you might have about how therapy works.

How do we meet?

At present I am working online only. This means that assessment and therapy sessions will be conducted online via a video platform. This enables me to offer even more flexible timing for sessions including evenings and weekends.
